I have been wanting to make a rock garden for a long time but have not been real sure how to go about it. I also was not sure of where to put the rock garden, how much soil to use, or what type of plants would be best to use. Well this book answers all those questions and more. And it is free!I have looked into to buying books on rock beds but I don't want to spend a lot of money on this project. A lot of the books are more extravagant and costly than want I want to build. The author of this book is specific and straight to the point for a simple yet nice rock garden.
Because this book is older it is written in Old English however it is still informative for readers today. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and have set up plans to put in my rock garden this spring.
If you want to start your own rock garden on a low budget I recommend this book.

A pretty good basic rock gardening book. Very short but some good advise. Not the best value out there.
Words are just not enough. Book is of little value without photos.
Also, this is very very short. A unexciting way to write about a fun and exciting topic.
There was a great deal of information regarding specific plants and their use in the rock garden. Pictures would have been nice as I had to look each plant up via a seondary soure.
I enjoyed reading the book and the information was helpful. I had a many ideas to work with and this was helpful with some of my own ideas and how to proceed to get started with them.
Nicely done little primer on creating a rock garden. Picked up some nice tips.
